How many lux does fine assembly / inspection need?
Indian practice (IS 3646) recommends 1000 to 1500 lux maintained on the task plane with uniformity of at least 0.7. New installations should target 20–30% above the maintained value to allow for lamp depreciation and dirt.
What mounting height is typical for fine assembly / inspection?
Around 4 m is typical. Higher mounting needs more lumens per fixture or closer spacing to keep uniformity.
